Unlimited Storage and Bandwidth

Many hosting companies promise unlimited storage and bandwidth.  Then when you start reading the Terms of Service a little closer, you realize that all the “unlimited” hosting companies actually reserve the right to limit you if your site starts taking up disproportional server resources!

iPage is no exception to this rule.  When I chose iPage as the hosting provider for my first website (carlnash.com), I was curious to see how far I could push the (un)limits.

I can’t vouch for any of the other unlimited storage hosting providers, but iPage has never done me wrong!  I have uploaded some seriously large files to my sites, including video files in excess of 2 gigs, and have never seen my disk usage meter budge.  While I am sure there must be some practical limits to this (or iPage would not have put that language into the Terms of Service), I can assure you that for even disk space intensive websites (like Emily Nyman’s photography website I recently set up, or the site for Eugene based film production crew Fleem!), iPage will suit your needs.

Put it this way – by the time you have enough traffic to your site to trigger iPage’s limitations, I am pretty sure that you will be able to afford a dedicated server for your site and your site alone!  In the meantime, you can’t beat iPage’s prices, award winning North American based 24 hour customer service and environmentally conscious hosting.
